Morris Rental Housing Commission (RHC)
The City of Morris established a Resident Rental Property Registration & Licensing Ordinance in 1999 which is administered by the Morris Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA). In 2007, the City Council also created the City of Morris Rental Housing Commission with the purpose of creating commonly acceptable solutions to problems that arise among landlords, tenants, and community members.
The Rental Housing Commission views one of the main sources of tension as being a lack of information. To address this, the Commission plans to educate tenants and landlords, provide accessible informative documents, and establish strong concepts about both tenant and landlord rights and responsibilities.
