MINUTES – MORRIS CITY
COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING – NOVEMBER 10, 2014
The regular meeting of the
Morris City Council was called to order at 5:15 p.m. this 10th day
of November, 2014, by Mayor Giese in the Council Chambers of the Morris Senior
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
ROLL CALL: Roll call was taken with the following
members present: Council member Wohlers, Solvie, Miller, Storck and Mayor
Giese. Also present was City Manager Hill.

PUBLIC HEARINGS: None
READING AND APPROVAL OF
MINUTES: 10/28/14 Regular
Meeting Minutes: Council member Miller moved, seconded by Council
member Solvie, to approve the 10/28/14 regular meeting minutes. Motion
Version Minutes: Council
member Storck moved, seconded by Wohlers, to approve the 10/28/14 condensed
version minutes. Motion carried.
CONSENT AGENDA: Mayor Giese moved, seconded by Council
member Miller, to approve the consent agenda which included the following
of City Bills
Estimate – F & S (Miscellaneous Concrete)
for Off Sale Beverage License
PETITIONS, REQUESTS AND
Setting Fees and Charges: City Manager Hill stated this resolution
sets the fees for snow removal on sidewalks. Residents will have two days
to shovel from when the snow ends. Council member Storck moved, seconded
by Mayor Giese, to adopt Resolution #3267-11-14, Resolution Setting Fees and
Charges. Upon a roll call vote taken and all present voting in favor,
Assessment for Current Services:
Council member Wohlers moved, seconded by Miller, to adopt Resolution #3268-11-14,
Resolution Adopting Assessment for Current Services. Upon a roll call
vote taken and all present voting in favor, motion carried.
CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS
& RECOMMENDATIONS: City
Manager Newsletter: This was informational for the council.
NEW BUSINESS: None
OLD BUSINESS: Wohlers stated he had a valued constituent
approach him and asked about the council being consistent with regard to how it
does things along main street. Wohlers referenced the area across from
Cenex that always has a lot of items displayed for sale and the Thrifty White
greenhouse area. Hill stated that the Thrifty White greenhouse is in a
highway business district and West Central Implement is in an industrial
zone. Miller stated that those businesses are not selling those cars,
where the K-Bid site would be selling other peopleís stuff.
The potential K-Bid site
was discussed. Storage of items and parking were concerns.
Wohlers again asked about the
status of the opening of Mi Mexico. Hill stated he believes it should be
