The regular meeting of the Board of Review was called to order at 5:15 p.m. this 4th day of April, 2016, by Mayor Giese in the Council Chambers of the Morris Senior Citizens/Community Center.

Present were Council members Wohlers, Solvie, Miller, Storck and Mayor Giese. Also present was City Manager Hill, County Assessor Thorstad, City Assessor Gieselman and Deputy Assessor Michaelson.

County Assessor Thorstad handed out some Board of Appeal and Equalization training information. Thorstad stated she would send an email in June or July with a link to the training. Thorstad noted it was important that everyone taking the training print out their certificate of completion.

Thorstad stated this is officially Don Gieselman's last year of assessing. The county is looking into what option would be the best for them going forward but they will have something in place to continue to provide assessing services to the city.

Gieselman stated there were 80 permits issued with 30% of them for roofing. There were three new commercial construction projects - Thrifty White, Heartland Motors and the assisted living facility on the old school property. The only land changes were along Highway 28.

Gieselman noted that values on commercial properties increased 5-6%. Residential saw a 1-2% increase. There were no changes in land values in residential areas. There were no new houses built, which is the first time Gieselman can remember that there hasn't been at least one.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, Mayor Giese adjourned the meeting at 5:25 p.m.
