APRIL 2, 2015

The regular meeting of the Board of Review was called to order at 5:15 p.m. this 1st day of April, 2015, by Mayor Giese in the Council Chambers of the Morris Senior Citizens/Community Center.

Present were Council members Wohlers, Solvie, Miller, Storck and Mayor Giese. Also present was City Manager Hill, County Assessor Thorstad, City Assessor Gieselman and Deputy Assessor Michaelson.

County Assessor Thorstad stated Gieselman only received two phone calls and neither of those required an appointment. Thorstad provided the council members with information on new training regulations for certification for the board of review. Training is now offered online at no cost. The Minnesota Association of Townships will be holding in person training at a cost of $50-$60 a person. Wohlers and Solvie are certified through 2016 and Miller through 2015.

City Assessor Gieselman stated the range for change was from 3% down to 3% up, which was mainly just depreciation. Townhomes were up 10% because they were selling for more. The ratio for the whole city has to be between 90-105% and it was at 96%. There were 52 residential sales and 4 commercial sales.

Gieselman stated that 75% of the building permits issued were for roofing and/or siding.

Gieselman noted in 2016 tax exempt property will be evaluated, which happens every six years.

ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business, Mayor Giese adjourned the meeting at 5:35 p.m.
